"A stop at the Thermal bench on the Limmatpromenade is a must! This eight-meter-long foot bath is simply made for a short break in-between."
The Thermal bench is literally a “hot spot” for those seeking to take a short rest. A meeting place for young and old, it is ideal to take a seat and put your feet into the hot thermal water after a long walk or a visit to the market on Saturdays. On top of that, you have a wonderful view of the Limmat river.
No matter how the weather is, beautiful sunshine or heavy snowfall, the Thermal bench is open to the public day and night, free of charge. This is probably the best place to get a true feel for the city, where water plays such a vital role. This includes both the thermal water from the springs (which flows into the foot bath without a pump) as well as the waters of the Limmat river, which weaves its way through the city.
Note: The Thermal bench is running again. You can splash your toes in the thermalwater.
How to get there
The Thermal bench is right on the bank of the Limmat, behind the Spa Information Center and the Limmathof Hotel.
Note: Due to pavement works, the access via Merciersteg is closed until December 4th.
